Moving Tips

Desk

All desks should be emptied. They will be flipped onto their side and moved by a dolly.

If a desk can be locked, it should be locked.

If a desk cannot be locked, it may be shrink-wrapped.

Chairs

No moving labels should be placed on fabric because they will fall off during the move.

Filing Cabinets

Lateral filing cabinets should be emptied. Standard filing cabinets may be left full unless they are being moved upstairs and they might have to be lightened in some fashion.

Computer

Computer carts will be used to move computers and peripheral equipment.

Tables

Some tables such as conference tables may have to be broken down to move.

Marker Boards

Boards should be cleaned of information because in moving, information may be erased.

Fragile or Delicate Items

If you feel an item is fragile or delicate, please use bubble wrap or packing paper to wrap the item.
