About Us

Gold Star Moving & Storage was incorporated in 1955 making it the oldest trucking company in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The City of Cambridge renamed the street where the company was located to honor nine of the city's soldiers that died in World War II. The nine soldiers were born and brought up on the street. One of the nine soldiers was the brother of Eugene O'Connor, the founder and owner of the company. To honor his brother and the other soldiers, Eugene renamed his company Gold Star Moving & Storage.

Over the years, Gold Star Moving & Storage has become a specialist in the moving and storage field, especially handling the daily problems of the Academic Community. Colleges and Universities are our specialty.

Eleanor O'Connor-Long, Eugene's daughter, is now president and chief operating officer at Gold Star Moving & Storage. The company has been working towards, (and will soon be) certified as a woman owned business. Companies will benefit from this association.

Storage

Gold Star Moving & Storage offers long and short-term storage plans. The facilities are climate controlled, clean and accessible with ease of entry. The facilities are located in the Cambridge & Somerville area.

Office Bulk Storage and Delivery

Gold Star Moving & Storage receives and stores your copy paper in their location. You fax Gold Star Moving & Storage a list of locations that will require copy paper that week. Gold Star Moving & Storage will deliver to each location the required amounts of paper. The amount of paper delivered and signatures will be faxed daily. Some accounts also use Gold Star Moving & Storage to deliver computers and other equipment while delivering the copy paper.

Used Equipment Disposal

Gold Star Moving & Storage will pick up and dispose of office furniture, equipment and more. Gold Star Moving & Storage will see to its disposal. We will also clean up the facility we remove the items from if required.
